Magic Kingdom has the most variable closing time of the four parks, and the widest gap between a good day and a bad one. A normal summer evening runs to 11pm. A party night ends at 6pm.

How Magic Kingdom hours normally work
Opening is the settled part. Magic Kingdom opens at 8am or 9am (Disney’s calendar showed 8am on 10 of the 15 days from 11 to 25 October 2026), and Early Theme Park Entry starts 30 minutes before that for guests at Disney resort hotels.
Closing is where the variation lives. Outside party season the park usually runs to 10pm or 11pm, with the fireworks scheduled to fit the closing time rather than the other way round. In quieter weeks it can shut at 9pm.
One quirk worth knowing: the posted closing time is when the queues close, not when you have to be out. If you join a queue at 10.59pm on an 11pm night, you ride. Main Street stays open afterwards, and the shops there are the last thing to close.
The party nights, and why they matter more here
From early August to 22 December in 2026, Magic Kingdom hosts hard ticket events on roughly half the nights of the week. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs from 7 August to 31 October, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes over on 25 nights from 8 November to 22 December.
On a party date the park closes to day guests at 6pm. The party runs from 7pm to midnight for separate party ticket holders, who can enter from 4pm, according to Disney. Your ordinary park ticket does not get you in, and it does not get you a refund on the five hours you were expecting.
This catches out more first-time visitors than anything else at Disney World. The fix is to check the date before you commit to it, which is what our live Magic Kingdom hours table is for. A 6pm close at Magic Kingdom in the autumn is almost always a party night.
If you are on a party date and did not buy a party ticket, the practical move is to treat Magic Kingdom as a morning park and hop somewhere else after lunch. EPCOT and Hollywood Studios both run to 9pm on most of the same evenings, according to Disney’s October 2026 calendar.
Early Theme Park Entry at Magic Kingdom
The 30 minute head start is useful at Magic Kingdom, because Fantasyland’s two big queues are at their shortest during Early Entry.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train averaged about 34 minutes in the first hours of the day in our readings from 8 August to 12 October 2026, rising to 48 at its 6pm peak. Peter Pan’s Flight behaves the same way. Both are in Fantasyland, which is where most of the Early Entry crowd goes, so if you want either of them this is the window.
The counter-play is to turn right into Tomorrowland instead. Space Mountain runs during Early Entry and is usually quieter than Fantasyland at that hour. TRON Lightcycle / Run is not on Disney’s Early Entry list (checked 13 October 2026).
Extended Evening Hours at Magic Kingdom
Magic Kingdom has historically been one of the two regular Extended Evening parks, giving Deluxe Resort and Deluxe Villa guests around 2 extra hours after everyone else leaves. Through 2026 that has been much less regular, with nights shifting to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

An ordinary park ticket does not cover the party.
