How the checker works

All 22 height requirements re-checked against Disney's published figures on 22 August 2026. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad dropped from 40 inches to 38 inches when it reopened on 3 May 2026, so older lists still showing 40 are out of date.

Enter a height in centimetres or inches and it tests that number against the published minimum for every ride across all four parks. Rides your child clears are listed first, then the ones they miss, so you can see at a glance how much of each park is actually open to them.

Rides with no minimum at all are marked separately rather than counted as a pass. Knowing that a toddler can ride It's a Small World tells you nothing useful about how your day will go.

A worked example

A child measuring 102cm clears Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at 97cm, along with most of Fantasyland.

They miss Space Mountain at 112cm, and TRON Lightcycle Run needs 122cm. That gap is the difference between two of Magic Kingdom's headline coasters being available or not, and it is worth knowing before you build a day around them.

Measure properly before you go

  • Measure in the shoes they will actually wear. Cast Members measure at the ride entrance with shoes on, and a chunky sole has settled more than one borderline case.
  • Measure close to the trip. Children grow. A number from six months ago is not the number Disney will get.
  • Plan pessimistically if they are borderline. Within a centimetre or two, assume they will not clear it. Being turned away at the front of a 60 minute queue is a worse afternoon than never joining it.
  • Ask about Rider Switch. One adult queues and rides while the other waits with the child, then they swap without queueing again.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate are these height requirements?

They are the minimums Disney publishes for each attraction, and we check them against Disney's own listings when we update the tool. Requirements do change, so confirm anything borderline on the day.

Does Disney measure children with their shoes on?

Yes. Cast Members measure at the ride entrance with shoes on, which is why you should measure at home in the shoes your child will be wearing in the park.

What happens if my child is turned away at the ride?

Ask for Rider Switch. One adult queues and rides while the other waits with the child, then they swap and ride without queueing again, so only one person loses the wait.

Which rides have the highest minimum height at Disney World?

The 112cm rides are the barrier most families hit, including Space Mountain and TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom. Clearing 112cm opens up most of the headline coasters across the four parks.

Are there rides with no height requirement at all?

Plenty. The tool marks those separately rather than counting them as a pass, because knowing a toddler can ride them does not help you plan.
