What the World Showcase Is
The World Showcase is 11 country pavilions arranged around a 1.3-mile lagoon in EPCOT. Each pavilion represents a different country with authentic (or semi-authentic) architecture, cuisine, entertainment, and shopping. The pavilions open at 11am daily, two hours after EPCOT’s official opening. You can walk the entire circuit in about an hour, or spend a full day visiting each pavilion thoroughly. The real experience is in the food, shopping, and cultural details rather than major attractions. Most families spend their first park day at Future World (the front of EPCOT) and return to World Showcase on the evening of Day 2.
Mexico Pavilion
Mexico is built around a Mayan pyramid temple façade. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros is a gentle dark ride through Mexican culture and scenes from the film. La Cava del Tequila is a tequila bar with excellent drinks and snacks. The architecture is striking with the pyramid as the centerpiece. If you’re not interested in tequila, La Cantina de San Angel serves quick-service Mexican food with excellent views of the lagoon. Mexico’s strength is the atmosphere and food rather than the ride.
Norway Pavilion
Norway features traditional Scandinavian architecture. Frozen Ever After was upgraded in February 2026 with new scenes and updated animatronics. It’s a gentle boat ride celebrating Frozen characters and Norwegian culture. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall serves character dining breakfast and lunch with Norwegian-inspired menu items. The pavilion is smaller than others but has good food and is less crowded. Norway is popular with Frozen fans but worth visiting for its own merits.
China Pavilion
China is built around a traditional temple. Reflections of China is a CircleVision film showing various regions of China. It’s a passive experience (standing in a circle while the film plays around you). The pavilion has good shopping, particularly silk and porcelain items. There’s no major meal here, just small shops. If you’re not interested in the film, walk through quickly for the architecture.
Germany Pavilion
Germany features half-timbered traditional architecture. Biergarten is a buffet-style restaurant with German food, beer, and a polka band. It’s one of EPCOT’s best dining experiences if you like German food and festive atmosphere. There’s no major attraction here, but the pavilion is worth visiting for Biergarten alone. Get pretzels and beer and enjoy the entertainment. Germany also has a bakery with excellent pastries.
Italy Pavilion
Italy features authentic Venetian architecture. Via Napoli Pizzeria serves authentic Neapolitan pizza (the real kind from Naples). It’s excellent but has variable waits and is often closed mid-day. L’Originale Alfredo di Roma serves pasta and other Italian dishes. The pavilion has good shopping and is generally less crowded than other areas. If you love authentic Italian food, this is the stop.
America Pavilion
America is a colonial building and replica of the Liberty Bell. The American Adventure is a large indoor theater show with audio-animatronic scenes of American history and presidents. It’s visually impressive and historically significant. Some find it politically heavy depending on their viewpoint. Colonial-style dining is available. The pavilion is traditionally less crowded because Americans don’t feel the need to experience American culture at a theme park, but it’s worth visiting for the show quality.
Japan Pavilion
Japan features authentic traditional architecture. Mitsukoshi is an enormous Japanese department store with clothing, gifts, and Japanese products. It’s the largest shop in World Showcase. Shiki-Sai serves sushi and other Japanese quick-service food. There’s no major attraction here, but the shopping is excellent and the pavilion has a peaceful aesthetic. Japan is perfect for mid-day breaks because it’s less crowded.
Morocco Pavilion
Morocco is architecturally the most detailed pavilion. The exterior is stunning, with detailed tile work and traditional designs. Spice Road Table serves Mediterranean cuisine. There’s no major attraction here, but the pavilion is worth visiting for photography and architecture alone. It’s also less crowded than other areas. If you like good design, Morocco is essential viewing.
France Pavilion
France features Parisian architecture. Remy’s Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a trackless dark ride through Gusteau’s kitchen from the film. It’s whimsical and family-friendly. Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie is a bakery with excellent pastries and sandwiches. Les Chefs de France serves French bistro food. The pavilion is popular because of the ride and quality food. It’s worth spending time here for both the ride and the dining.
United Kingdom Pavilion
UK features various British architectural styles. Rose and Crown Pub is a traditional British pub with beer and pub food. It’s one of the best spots for watching EPCOT fireworks because of its lagoon-side location. There’s no major attraction in UK. It’s worth visiting for the pub experience and fireworks viewing. Getting to Rose and Crown early (before the fireworks) is important if you want a good spot.
Canada Pavilion
Canada features rustic cabin architecture and a waterfall. O Canada is a CircleVision film showing various Canadian landscapes and culture. Le Cellier Steakhouse serves steak and Canadian dishes, most notably cheddar cheese soup, which is excellent. The pavilion is less crowded and is a natural conclusion to the World Showcase loop. Canada is worth visiting for Le Cellier if you’re hungry.
Drinking Around the World Circuit
Many adults do a circuit of alcoholic drinks through the pavilions. Start with tequila in Mexico, beer in Germany, wine in France, and various drinks in other pavilions. It’s a popular evening activity. The pavilions open at 11am and the World Showcase is excellent for an afternoon/evening when you’re not interested in Future World attractions.

World Showcase Strategy
The World Showcase is best experienced in the afternoon and evening. Start with Future World in the morning, then pivot to World Showcase around 11am when it opens. Work your way around the pavilions at a relaxed pace. Have lunch or snacks in different countries. Don’t try to hit every pavilion with the same intensity. Prioritize your interests: if food is important, focus on Mexico, Germany, France, Italy, and Canada. If you want attractions, prioritize Frozen Ever After, Ratatouille, Gran Fiesta Tour, and American Adventure. Do the fireworks from Rose and Crown’s lagoon-side seating if possible.
